About luckyGPS
luckyGPS is an offline routing, navigation, mapping and tracking application all in one, coded primarily for Linux/qt platforms (needs gpsd).
Features of luckyGPS
All (current and future) features:
- You can enhance OpenStreeMap by recording your tracks and export them for use in e.g. JOSM.
- The new offline routing engine does not need any Internet access to show you the way home.
- Easy translation using the Qt Toolkit, at the moment German, English and Hungarian are available
- Its adaptive screen layout supports vertical and horizontal layouts.
- Automatically enabled Laptop/Mobile mode which disables animations, gimmicks and other eye-candy for a long battery life. It is automatically enabled on low-res screens (e.g. on “Lenovo IdeaPad S10″) and on vertical screen layouts (e.g. OpenMoko/FreeRunner).
- [Planned] Offline rendering of missing OpenStreetMap tiles as you drive
Supported platforms until now:
- Linux 64bit (Ubuntu tested)
- Linux 32bit (Ubuntu tested)
- Microsoft Windows 7 64bit
- Microsoft Windows 7 32bit
